The Destructors
Writer: Graham Greene
Characters: Trevor (T), Mike, Mr. Thomas (Old Misery), Blackie, Summers.
Year: 1954.
* * *
The destructors is a story in which you can analyze the characters because they all represent the typical reactions people had after war. This story written by Graham Greene is, in my opinion very reflective but could be boring at the beginning of the story.
The story begins with the author introducing the characters and showing the family of Trevor, a boy who has emotional problems because of World War 2. He also presents Mr. Thomas, an old man who lives in the only house left in a parking site. The gang of children are characterized by bothering people and like to pass time bothering Mr. Thomas. One day Trevor goes to see the insides of the house and returns to his friends with the idea of destroying it. What will happen next?
Graham Greene perfectly shows how a country and his citizens develop economically, physically and emotionally and reflects very well how children get affected after a war.

Are The Oscars interesting anymore?
The Oscars are the most important cinematography awards for many people and their rating is higher than any others (Novel, Grammys, Golden Globes, etc.).
Every year designers, musicians, engineers and architects prepare themselves for making the next theatre modern and glamorous; a hard work that in the end, it’s always very grateful.
Many fans wish that his favorite actor/actress, director or movie will get the golden statue this time and many others just wait patiently to see how a wonderful night will became even better than last time (which seems impossible).
Of course after 81 years celebrating the Academy Awards many people have started to think that this is a fake and that they are now boring because they present the same actors and the same categories. These people should understand that although they are the same categories (and some are the same actors) every year there are different movies (which get better effects, music, etc.) and we get to know better how many people work for making the film. The academy is very accurate with their decisions and many people agree with them. Every time they are about to announce who the winner is we still fill excitement and tension about knowing it.
But now the questions are: Heath Ledger was the real winner? Did his death was what made him win? Well I think that he really deserved the award because his performance took the Joker to another level; he gave his life to the character.

A Journey's End
The play is settled in World War I at France. It begins inside a dugout (a place underground where soldiers lived) in which we found two British soldiers, who, as they talk, present the rest of the characters, their location and their feelings. They talk about Captain Stanhope who is a young man that has been on the trenches for three years, apparently he is very nervous all the time and gets drunk very often, but has become a brave fighter. This play gives us a clear image of the psychological changes that men receive when they go to war.
The main characters are:
Captain Stanhope
Osborne
Raleigh
Hardy
Hibbert
This play was written by the English author R.C. Sherriff in 1928 and was first performed in 1928 in the Apollo Theatre, England.
In my opinion Sherriff wrote this play to show people that war isn’t just about going and return safely (if there’s a return), but that this men were exposed to big stress and to see how other men, maybe their friends, died in front of them.

An Emo's Diary
8th of October 2008
Today I had another fight with my mother; she still wants me to dress like a girl, with pink ribbons and white T-shirts with a big happy face on it; I think she is worried. I would like her to understand me, I want her to know that I would never hurt me; I just want to be with people ho think like me.
At school everything was the same, the small children are afraid when I’m around, and the ones who used to be my friends don’t talk to me, they don’t even look at my face without making something to make sure I understand they hate me. I think that they can do whatever they like; I don’t really care, because if they judge me for how I am, then they shouldn’t be even closer to me. I just hate that the world is so unfair and against me. With my real friends I met a boy who cries a lot and just wants to cut his arms and legs and talks all day about suicide, it’s horrible. I didn’t like him at all because he is one of the people who think that we only want to die to go to the “Black Parade”. He must have serious problems. I hate that people puts on stereotypes which don’t match at all with us. I just wish that this ugly world could accept us, after all we are still human.

Day One
I stole a pen from Capitain Schneider and broke a piece of my clothes to write. I'm in hell. Today my left hand was broken with a hammer. My only hope is that I die while sleeping, that would be a miracle. I wont say anything, to them, I need to be strong. We ate some grey stuff, that tastes horrible and drink from mud.
If you ever find this piece of cloth, don't feel sorry, I don't want to be saved, they know me already.

Political Prisoner Diary
In our English class we are working on a journal about a political prisoner. My character is a North American spy, from 1942 (Second World War) who was caught by the GESTAPO (the German police). His name is Blake Rink. 34 years old, 14 being a spy and 3 spying on Nazis. When he was trapped, he was taken to a military base so the Germans could interrogate him. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't know German, so he doesn't understand anything they are planning to do to him. He starts to write about his feelings and activities during the day in every place he can find. He also narrates what the Germans do to him and what are they trying to make him say. Enjoy it!
